Alleged Meth Dealer Indicted on Drug Charges

SAN ANGELO, TX – A 38-year-old San Angelo man was indicted by a grand jury in August after deputies found him with a smorgasbord of drugs in his vehicle.

As previously reported, On July 30 Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle off US Highway 67 North while on patrol.

During the traffic stop the driver, later identified as David Ochampaugh, was found to have two outstanding Tom Green County felony warrants.

Ochampaugh was immediately arrested without incident, and a probable cause search of his vehicle was conducted.

A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 58.7 grams methamphetamine, 7.2 grams Adderall, 17.1 grams MDMA, and .08 ounces of marijuana.

TGCSO Deputies also located various articles of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle during their search.

Ochampaugh was then arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail and charged with two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, as well as two going off bond charges of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and terroristic threat against a peace officer.

He remains in the Tom Green County Jail en lieu of a $181,000 bond.

During the August indictments, Ochampaugh was only indicted on manufacture and delivery of controlled substance.

His initial pre-trial is scheduled for October 6 at 2 p.m. and his jury trial is set for February 22, 2021 at 9 a.m.
