Police Identify Victim in Capital Murder Case

ODESSA, TX – Authorities have identified the man who was allegedly murdered by the suspect who was captured in San Angelo on Monday. 

According to CBS 7, on June 17, the victim in Monday’s shooting has been identified as 23-year-old Kevin Portillo of Midland, per the Odessa Police Department.

Jonathan Roy Dawkins was captured by the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in San Angelo on Monday. Here is the Story: Capital Murder Suspect Arrested in San Angelo

Dawkins spent the night in the Tom Green County Jail and was released to the Ector County Sheriff's Office the following day. 

He is now currently being held in the Ector County Jail.
