Suspect Tries to Gouge Officer's Eye During Arrest

 

MIDLAND, TX — A 32-year-old Midland man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to gouge an officer’s eye out during an arrest.

According to CBS7, on Thursday afternoon a Midland PD officer responded to the Wash-Em-Up Laundromat for reports for a man touching himself.

When the officer arrived at the scene, he located the suspect identified as Joshua Littlejohn and initiated the arrest. 

According to the department, Littlejohn began attacking the officer and tried to gouge his eye. He then allegedly tried to take the officer’s weapon.

Citizens in the area came to the officer’s aid and Littlejohn was taken into custody. The officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injury.
