$1.7 Million Worth of Meth & Heroin Seized From West Texas Couple

HIDALGO, TX – A Lubbock couple was arrested Wednesday at the Hidalgo International Bridge after border patrol agents discovered $1.7 million worth of narcotics. 

According to KCBD, on June 10, agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection stopped a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross that was crossing into Texas from Mexico. 

Agents stopped the vehicle and spoke with the passengers, a 31-year-old male and 32-year-old female from Lubbock, TX, before searching the Mitsubishi. 

Hidden inside of the seats, agents found 20 packages of alleged methamphetamine weighing 77.20 pounds and one package of alleged heroin that weighed 4.71 pounds. These together have an estimated street value of $1.7 million.

The names of the suspects have not been released at this time. 

The drive from Lubbock to the Hidalgo International Bridge is nearly 10 hours and goes directly through San Angelo.
