ABILENE, TX – Two Abilene men have been arrested for crimes against children.
According to KTXS, APD’s Cyber Crimes Unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations executed two search and arrest warrants on Wednesday.
The first individual detained was 27-year-old Daniel Watkins who was arrested for online solicitation of a minor. He is accused of contacting a minor on the internet seeking “sexual gratification.”
According to police Watkins used social media and text messaging to "solicit a 13-year-old girl for sex."
During the search of his home on the 1100 block of South LaSalle Street authorities seized electronic evidence. His bond has been set at $20,000.
The second individual arrested was identified as 53-year-old John Dale Woodall. He is charged with promotion of child pornography and possession of lewd visual depiction of a minor.
According to authorities, Woodall allegedly uploaded over 200 images of child pornography to the internet. During the search of his mobile home in the 4600 block of Coachlight Road, police seized numerous pieces of electronic evidence from the home.
His bond was set at $25,000.
