Border Patrol Seizes $350,000 in Heroin

 

LAREDO, TX – On Thursday, May 21st Border Patrol agents intercepted heroin at the World Trade Bridge. The narcotics had an estimated value of $350,972.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a 2019 Kenworth tractor hauling an empty box was sent to secondary examination. After a canine and non-intrusive imaging system examination was completed, CBP officers discovered 10 packages containing 8.77 pounds of alleged heroin.

The driver, a 38-year-old male Mexican citizen making entry from Mexico, was arrested and the case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
