Active Shooter 'Neutralized' at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi

 

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Naval Air Station Corpus Christi entered a lockdown early Thursday morning after an active shooter was “neutralized.”

According to KTXS, the Naval Security Forces at NAS Corpus Christi responded to the active shooter at approximately 6:15 a.m.

The Naval Air Station did not release additional information regarding the incident, but they announced, “all gates on the installation remain closed while first responders process the scene.”

According to NAS, NCIS and local law enforcement are on the scene. The base remains on lockdown and everyone on base is asked to remain in place unless they would be cleared to do so.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is also on lockdown and asks everyone to avoid campus and or remain indoors and away from windows if they were already present.
