...difficulty with tourism, crime and why it's not recommend to move to the COSA to raise a family. I'm going to try and tell a short true story about when I worked for TGC building Maintenance department. I was coming out from the back area of the TGC Justice center when at the same time a ex police chief ... Mr. Smith ... was coming out of the office/courtroom area back entrance. We said hello to each other and he said... I tell ya Warren ... the drug methamphetamine is running rapid in this Country... including San Angelo and TGC! It's going to be a big problem for years to come and somehow... we need to get control of this poison! I completely agreed with him! Our current Police Chief is doing a pretty good job of it. I applaud our Police Chief and police officers and drug enforcement officers ... for all they are doing. They have the toughest job to perform in a thankless job! I for one appreciate anyone who takes a job as a Police Officer... anywhere! I can't say it enough ... " Thank You SAPD for the job all of you do!"

Well good morning Texas. I will start off by saying that I am from Tx, central area, and I certainly have a lot on my brain that I could rant on about, but we shall see what set me off in the coming days. I have strong opinions I try as much as possible to back with facts, or popular opinion. Its called freedom of speech,I like to use it, get over yourself and move on.

Ok, this one has been chapping my buttcheeks for a while now. I probably not unlike many, work mainly on a 1099 contract basis, meaning I work anything from short to long term contracts in the IT field, I was let go on Feb.14th 2020 because the contract was coming to an end, and well Corona was just starting to really become a thing. That means I no longer have an income until I can hop on a new contract, meaning finding one first, then making it through the interview process and hopefully being hired, then the 2 to 4 week waiting period for 1st check. So from Feb.14th today that is 3 months with no income because of this virus, the couple of jobs I almost landed back in march and very early April were terminated before I was even hired because of the virus. A company posts a position, interviews me, then "oh yeah we aren't going to hire because of the virus".
SO that being said I'm broke as hell scraping by for food, rent, and bills. Along come the "gracious" Gov. saying "here you go peasant, here is $1200 back of your hard earned tax dollars to help pay 3 months of rent, bills, and food, and by the way, we are going to pay businesses millions of dollars to pay employees that are not allowed to come to work."
Like many of you, yes, I was grateful for the chump change I was given, and how quickly it was dished out, BUT, what I was not happy about was the fact this was a one time payment when they knew damn well there was no definite end in sight for being able to get back to work, let alone even go outside of my apartment. As soon as that 1st stimulus bill was passed for a single payment, which they already knew was waay too little for anyone living in reality, they should have already had a second package ready to go with an open ended cutoff deadline for when the lockdown is lifted. The GOV. has dropped the ball seriously and failed us all. I mean seriously, what good is it to just say we will "allow" you to not pay rent, but you can still get evicted once the lockdown is lifted because you’re still broke , and you'll still owe back rent as well. If they wanted to do ANY kind of good, they should have created a rent/mortgage/utilities bill voucher program that you send to all three and the GOV. foots the bill automatically along with that $1200 please. Now that would have been the absolute best possible course of action . No, instead we are all stuck at home by order of the government unable to work and earn an income to survive, Just to survive!
