SAN ANGELO, TX – A 33-year-old San Angelo man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of taking a nude photo of a child.
According to the affidavit, May 12, officers with the San Angelo Police Department arrested and charged Andrew Edwards, 33, with producing a performance with a child younger than 14 that included sexual conduct.
Officers first learned of this incident when the child made an outcry of sexual misconduct. The child alleged that around the 26th of January, Edwards had taken nude pictures of the child with his cellphone while the child was nude in the bathroom.
A search warrant was then issued. Edwards phone was confiscated and searched. On it police found an image of the child depicting actual lewd exhibition of the genitals, anus, or breasts below the top of the areola. They also found a phone call in which the defendant admitted to taking nude photographs of the child on multiple occasions.
Edwards was then arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. His bond is set at $75,000.
