Victims Identified In Brutal Murder-Suicide

 

MIDLAND, TX – The Midland Police Department has confirmed the homicide it is investigating is an apparent murder-suicide after a second body was found this morning.

According to CBS7, at approximately 6:50 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Fannin Avenue for a call regarding an unconscious female covered in blood. When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Iracema Diaz with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

During their investigation officers learned the victim resided at the 2300 block of Cimmaron. When they arrived at that location, they observed smoke coming from the home. Serval officers belonging to the Midland Police Department Crimes Against Persons detectives, Crime Scene Unit, Traffic Unit, MISD Police, and the Midland Fire Department responded to the scene. At the scene, officers located the body of 38-year-old Yasser Diaz. 

Diaz committed suicide inside the home and officers located the knife he used to kill Iracema inside his vehicle. the investigation is ongoing.
