Police Searching for Fugitive Wanted for Murder

ODESSA, TX – Have you seen this man? If so he is wanted in connection with a murder.

According to the Odessa Police Department, on March 23, 2020 at around 10:20 p.m., Odessa Police responded to the 1000 block of North Dixie in reference to a medical call. Upon arrival, officers observed a deceased male, later identified as Samuel Dean Jones, 56 years of age, of Odessa.

The Criminal Investigation Division, Crime Scene Unit and Ector County Medical Examiner’s Office all responded to the scene. The decedent was sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy, which later determined that a homicide occurred.

OPD is asking for the public's help in locating a person of interest in connection to a murder that occurred last month in Central Odessa. Marc James Morris, 44 years of age, is currently wanted for questioning only.
