ODESSA, TX – An Ector County couple is accused of allegedly kidnapping a 2-year-old from his mother.
According to CBS7, last Thursday night the mother of the child told deputies she was walking outside with her child to get the mail when the couple got out of their car and ran towards her.
The couple, identified as Damian Cortes, 22, and Kiarra Madrid, 23, allegedly then tried to take the child and tackled the mother to the ground. They then grabbed the boy and ran back to their vehicle.
The mother was able to grab a can of spray paint and spray the vehicle before the couple drove away.
Authorities were able to find the car after they spotted red paint on the hood and sides. Cortes and Madrid were taken into custody and authorities located the child.
The couple has been charged with kidnapping, a third-degree felony.
