BROWNWOOD, TX – Two Brownwood men were arrested last week in unrelated cases in connection to Sheriff’s deputies seizing a total of 53 grams of methamphetamine.
Charles Caldwell, 33, was previously booked on April 8 on a charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and two charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
James Bilbrey, 40, was booked into the Brown County Jail on April 9 with the charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and a parole warrant.
Caldwell Arrest:
According to Mondays report from Detective Carlyle Gover, deputies obtained a search and arrest warrant for Charles Caldwell on April 8. When deputies and Brownwood police served their warrant at a residence on Brooks Avenue in Brownwood, Deputies located Caldwell and another individual in Caldwell’s bedroom. Deputies continued their search of the bedroom and seized 40 grams of methamphetamine, several articles of paraphernalia, two handguns, as well as $2,810 in cash.
In addition to Caldwell, there were four others that were also arrested at the residence:
• Jessica Gowin, 29, was located in another bedroom and arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
• Anna Simons, 32, (the other person in Caldwell’s bedroom), was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
• Arthur Lopez, 33, who had a parole warrant, was found hiding under a trailer on the property.
• Heath Dozier, 36, was located in the yard and arrested on a warrant for criminal mischief.
Bilbrey Arrest:
In an additional report, Sheriffs deputy Mason Fabbiani, and narcotics detective Carlyle Gover noticed Bilbrey on Waco Street in Brownwood on the evening of April 9. At the time Bilbrey was standing next to a pickup, and leaning underneath the pickup’s open hood. When deputies initiated a search they recovered a scale in the pickup’s cab,to which Bilbrey told Gover that the scale was used for weighing marijuana, Fabbiani’s report states.
After a probable cause search was issued, Gover and deputy Marvin Simpson found two baggies inside the pickup’s hood area containing a total of 13 grams of methamphetamine. After further investigation deputies learned that Bilbrey also had a current parole violation warrant.
