Police: Man Charged After He Allegedly Assaulted a Teen

MERKEL, TX – Authorities have charged Heath Travis with aggravated sexual assault after he allegedly assaulted a teen multiple times.

According to KTXS, the victim was a 17-year-old girl who was assaulted several times over the course of two days.

The victim alleges Travis threatened to kill her multiple times and even threatened her with a gun.

Police interviewed a variety of witnesses and were able to secure a search warrant on Tuesday. The warrant permitted authorities to search a home located on the 500 block of Yucca Street.

Evidence was collected and authorities arrested Travis. His bond has been set at $15,000.
