Miles Woman Shoots Husband in Domestic Dispute

 

MILES, TX – A Miles man was hospitalized Sunday after deputies say he was shot in the chest by his wife. 

According to the Runnels County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday afternoon 03-29-2020 at approximately 7:24 p.m. Runnels County dispatch received a 911 call reporting a shooting at 701 St. John’s in Miles. 

Runnels County Deputies and Ballinger P.D. Officers arrived and found James Quezada with a single gun shot wound to his right chest/shoulder area. Upon investigation it was determined during a family argument his wife, Bonita Quezada, shot the victim with a handgun.

James Quezada was transported to Shannon Medical Center by Ballinger EMS. He is currently in stable condition.

Bonita Quezada was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Runnels County jail. Her bond was set at $2500.00.

... the amount of the bond was? $2500? The woman shoots the man ( pretty dad-gum close to the heart) and the amount of the bond is only $2500! Seems to me she was trying to put him in the ground! I pray the man recovers! Geeezzz...

If I were in her shoes, and I truly wanted him dead, I would have emptied the magazine into his face. One shot to the chest almost seems like "please stop beating me in front our children" type of thing. Hell I don't know though. I guess that's for the jury to sort out.
