Driver Charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter in Rollover Crash

 

MIDLAND, TX – A 21-year-old driver has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after causing the death of his passenger.

According to CBS7, Ulices Carranza-Carranza and 22-year-old Joe Pena Marquez were driving south on Loop 250, when Carranza failed to control his speed and left the roadway around 4:46 p.m.

This caused the vehicle to roll and Marquez was ejected and subsequently died at the scene.

Carranza was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and then charged and jailed at the Midland County Jail.

Both Carranza and Marquez were from Perryton.
