Suspect Arrested After Police Find Controlled Substance and Dead Rooster

 

RANGER, TX – A man has been arrested after accusation of Rooster fighting. 

According to KTXS, on February 29, the chief of police with the Rising Star Police Department pulled over a vehicle Saturday night at the intersection of S.Miller and W Ross St. 

The chief says as soon as the vehicle stopped the driver got out and ran. 

The truck was searched and inside was a dead rooster and several others that had serious injuries. 

The animals were taken to animal rescue before being given veterinary treatment. 

On Sunday police arrived to the man's house with a warrant for the cockfighting. Inside they found the man as well as a controlled substance. 

Lance Lynn Robertson of May is charged with possession of a controlled substance and cockfighting. He was booked into the Eastland County Jail.
