Update: Two Students Stabbed by Classmate

 

ABILENE, TX – Police are currently investigating a possible stabbing at Abilene High School.

According to KTXS, officers and medics were dispatched to the school around 8 a.m.

Reporters at the scene saw two people being loaded into ambulances and transported to the hospital. 

The school is currently on lockdown and details will be released as they become available.

UPDATE @ 1/16/2020 @ 9:15 a.m.

Per KTXS, the School Resource Officer at Abilene High School reported to police that two male students had been stabbed by a classmate around 8:00 a.m.

According to the details provided, the suspect is a student who had been suspended. He ran from the scene but was apprehended and arrested at 8:36 a.m. The stabbing happened right outside the west side of the cafeteria.

“It’s a terrible tragedy. We don’t know the extent of the injuries,” said Abilene ISD Communications Director Lance Fleming.

Police said they will have an increased presence on campus for the rest of the day and possibly more.
