Police: Suspect Dumped Woman in Alley After Kidnapping & Assaulting Her

ABILENE, TX – Abilene Police have charged Joe Raymond Rodriguez with aggravated kidnapping after he was accused of kidnapping a woman, sexually assaulting and then dumping her in an alley.

According to KTXS, court documents detail the alleged assault that occurred on July 14. The victim was out looking for her father’s dog when she says a car pulled up and a man wearing a hoodie got out, grabbed her from behind and forced her into the backseat. She alleges the man “threatened to kill her if she screamed or made a noise.

The suspect allegedly held her face down in the center console and back as he drove around blocks and alleys. When he eventually stopped the car, he then climbed in the back seat and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, he opened the door and pushed her out.

The victim then ran to Hendrick Medical Center where she received medical attention.

Rodriguez was arrested on Friday after DNA evidence collected from the victim was matched to Rodriguez’s DNA in the Combined DNA Index System or CODIS.

Rodriguez’s bond was set at $500,000.
