SAN ANGELO, TX – Nearly two years after being arrested, Antonio Noe Flores III will soon be having his day in court. Flores, 30, is charged with first-degree felony murder after he and two other suspects allegedly gunned down Andrew Martinez in 2017.
According to police reports Martinez was shot at the 1300 block of East 24th Street in late October. Martinez had multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital. According to court documents, Martinez was killed after three individuals went to his home and one of them shot him a point-blank range. The three individuals were allegedly looking for Martinez because he owed them money in a drug deal to purchase meth.
In their investigation, SAPD identified a juvenile suspect, Flores, and Jeremy Perez, as being responsible for the shooting and subsequent death of the victim. Perez pleaded guilty in October of this year and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Flores will face trial by himself and the trial is projected to begin the week of February 10 of next year. After being in custody for over two years the court, the prosecution, and the defense want to make sure Flores has his trial as soon as it is possible.
Flores is currently in custody at the Tom Green County Jail and is being held on an $850,000 bond.
