Daddy's Food Truck Owner Sentenced to Federal Prison on Drug Charges

SAN ANGELO, TX – The former owner of Daddy's Food Truck in San Angelo has been sentenced to over 16 years in federal prison for manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine.

David Steven Jasso, 43, was arrested after San Angelo Police executed a search warrant at his home.  Jasso was found with a total of 8.812 lbs of meth.

As we reported at the time, after arriving, officers found Jasso in his room with the door locked. Police made entry and found Jasso attempting to flush the drugs down the toilet. He did not succeed and officers found four baggies containing 108 grams on 97% pure methamphetamine.

The raid then went next door and police found Jasso's other stash. In that house police found a locked container and inside was individual wrapped bundles containing meth.

The first bundle contained 1,697.8 grams of pure meth, the second contained 1,296.6 grams of pure meth, and the third contained 894.7 grams of 96% pure methamphetamine.

On July 28, 2018, Jasso confessed to having the meth and that it was fronted to him by a supplier that he now owed $60,000.

Jasso entered a guilty plea in federal court in July 2019.

According to court documents, Jasso was sentenced to 195 months in federal prison.  He was remanded to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons on Wednesday.  The court recommended Jasso be housed at the Federal Correctional Institute in Big Spring, TX for the 16.25 years.  While he is in prison, Jasso will attend the residential drug treatment program and participate in vocational training.  The court declined to order a fine because Jasso has no way to pay a fine.
