SAPD: Shirtless Boxer Blocks Street Then Leads Police on Chase

SAN ANGELO, TX – Officers with the San Angelo Police Department arrested a man Tuesday for multiple charges including leading police on a foot chase.

According to the SAPD, on Dec. 17, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of N. Bryant Blvd. for the report of a man with an unknown problem obstructing traffic.

When officers arrived they found Victor Jimenez, 26, shirtless and wearing boxing gloves in the middle of the intersection.

"Jimenez disregarded several commands to get out of the intersection and then tried to flee from the officers," said the SAPD's Facebook. "He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit."

After Jimenez was arrested he was taken to the Tom Green County Jail and booked for evading arrest and obstructing a highway passageway. While in the jail he picked up an additional charge after he assaulted one of the officers inside of the jail.

His charges now include evading arrest, obstructing a highway passageway, and assault by contact to a police officer.

He was booked into the TGCJ on Dec. 17 at 9:35 p.m. He was released the following day at 3:28 a.m. after posting a $1,492 bond.
