Blackwell Elementary Computer Teacher Arrested for Lewd Acts with a Student

BLACKWELL, TX – An elementary teacher at Blackwell CISD was arrested Monday for multiple child sex crimes.

According to KTXS, on December 16, deputies with the Nolan County Sheriff's Office arrested Tommy Chambliss, 58, for three counts of indecency with a child by exposure at around 5:00 p.m.

The arrest came after Chambliss was accused of forcing at least one elementary aged girl to expose herself. The acts occurred more than once inside of the school and possible even on the school bus.

Chambliss was released prior to his arrest from his duties of teaching elementary computers, math for 7th and 8th graders, Algebra for 9th graders, and the Senior pre-calculus course.

"Blackwell CISD is investigating a complaint made against an employee. During this investigation, the employee has been placed on administrative leave," said the Blackwell CISD Superintendent Abe Gott. "Because this is a confidential personnel issue, the district is precluded from commenting any further at this time."

Chambliss is charged with three counts of indecency with a child by exposure but could be facing more charges as investigators believe there could be more victims.
