SAN ANGELO, TX – Jesse Fernandez Hernandez, 23, pleaded guilty Monday morning to one count of possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 4 years in state prison.
According to court documents Fernandez Hernandez became a suspect in an investigation after a CyberTipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children suspected an Instagram user had uploaded one file of suspected child porn. The report identified Fernandez Hernandez as the alleged suspect.
In May of this year, authorities met with Fernandez Hernandez and during an interview he admitted to using Instagram and Snapchat to send and receive child pornography. A consensual search of his phone led authorities to discover one video that depicted a male child, approximately 8 years in age, engaging in a lewd act.
Fernandez Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. By pleading guilty at today’s hearing, the defendant agreed to register as a sex offender once he has finished his prison term. He will also be required to pay court costs.
Possession of child pornography is a 3rd Degree felony, can carry a prison term of 2-10 years and/or a fine not to exceed $10,000.
