Man Stabbed During Altercation Near Downtown San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A man was stabbed and found bleeding in a City park near the Concho River behind a funeral home in San Angelo Thursday afternoon.

According to San Angelo police, the man was stabbed in the back during a fight in City Park in the 300 block of Rio Concho Dr. While police are working out the details, they say they have two in custody. One, a suspect, was arrested near the park. The second, who was described as a person of interest was chased down and detained near the Whiskey River Bar.

Police said from what they know so far, the stabbing was the result of an altercation between two males. Sometime during the fight, the stabbing happened. Police are also searching for the stabbing weapon whether it was a knife or not.

The stabbing victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment. Police said the wounds did not appear to be life threatening. The victim was observed on his feet walking before the ambulance arrived.
