Border Patrol Apprehends 15 Suspects

BRACKETVILLE, TX – A group of 15 individuals was apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Brackettville area on November 1st.

The group consisted of six Honduran adults, four Honduran females, four Honduran juveniles, and one female Mexican adult. During a search of the area, agents discovered a backpack that contained a .22-caliber revolver that belonged to a 46-year-old Honduran male.

“Illegal aliens possessing a weapon pose great risks to our agents and our communities,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz. “We have seen how dangerous encounters with armed individuals can be for agents.”

As the agents processed the group they discovered that one of the males had two previous deportations, in 2006 and 2007. He currently faces a charge of 8 USC § 922 G-5 - Illegal Alien in Possession of a Firearm.
