Head on Collision with a Semi Truck Leaves One Dead

 

COMANCHE, TX -- An elderly woman died Monday morning after a head on collision with a Semi truck. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on October 28, troopers were dispatched to State Highway 16 just .9 miles South of De Leon for the report of a major motor vehicle accident. 

When they arrived, they found a 2007 Ford Focus and a 2016 Mack Truck that had collided head on. 

Further investigation revealed that the Focus was heading south while the Semi was heading North. During a curve, the focus left the correct lane and collided head on with the truck. 

The driver of the Mack Truck, Armando Deluna, 60, of Brownwood was treated and released from the the Comanche Medical Center. 

The driver of the Focus, Diana Hughes, 71, of De Leon was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Both driver were wearing seatbelts.
