Drunken Chase Ends in Front Yard of House Near ASU

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department chased a drunk driver thorough a residential neighborhood early Monday morning.

According to SAPD, on October 28, officers attempted to pull over a driver near Sul Ross st.

This is when the driver allegedly fled the traffic stop but quickly stopped after crashing into the stop sign located on Sul Ross and Tech Ave.

Police say the crash disabled the vehicle but the driver decided to take off running.

Officers eventually caught up to the man, arrested him, and then identified him as 22-year-old Ryan Porras Alvarez.

Alvarez is charged with driving while intoxicated with a BAC over .15 and evading arrest with a vehicle.

He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail October 28 at 3:30 a.m. His bond was set at $9,000 and was released the following day at 11:58 a.m.
