Storage Unit Burglars Arrested

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police Department made two arrests in connection to a series of storage room and vehicle burglaries that occurred in San Angelo these past few weeks. Two Davids, David Pool, 32, and David Pruitt, 31, where identified as the culprits behind the thefts.

The investigation revealed that two suspects had used a U-Haul van and a tan-colored van to burglarize storage units. On Friday, October 18th, a patrol sergeant located the alleged vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Venture, parked at the Fall Creek Apartments. Surveillance of the area showed the two suspects walking to the van; the Davids had been previously identified in SAPD's investigation.

After locating the stolen items, SAPD detectives were tasked with sorting through all stolen property and returning them to their rightful owners. So far seven victims have been contacted about the recovery of their items. Some of the recovered items included an ASU Girls Basketball Championship ring and the cremated remains of an adult female, which have been returned to their owners. The remainder of the recovered items will be returned as police work to identify them.

Pool had been previously charged for burglary of a storage unit in August and had an active warrant for his arrest; both men were taken into custody on drug charges. Pool and Pruitt were subsequently charged with Burglary of a building, with additional charges are pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.
