CLYDE, TX – Sadie Garret, 3, died on Thursday after her grandmother accidentally ran her over in the driveway.
According to KTXS, Sadie was playing in the driveway when her grandmother backed out, not knowing Sadie was there. Callahan County Sheriff Terry Joy told KTXS that the grandmother knew she hit something but didn’t realize it was Sadie until she got out of her car.
Sadie was one month away from turning four.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses, in addition to an account at the Abilene Banking Center on Southwest Drive. Donations can be made at the bank; checks can be made payable to Archie or Amy Tucker for the benefit of Sadie Garrett. T-shirts are also being sold in honor of Sadie with all the proceeds going to her family.
Sadie’s funeral services will be held this weekend. Visitations will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
The church service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, followed by her burial in Clyde Cemetery.
