Amber Alert Cancelled After U.S Marshal's Recover Kidnapped Teen

DEL RIO, TX -- The U.S. Marshal's Service recovered the 13-year-old that had been missing since September 9.

As previously reported, on October 7, the Texas Department of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert for 13-year-old Betsabe Perez who was "in grave or immediate danger." Here's the original stroy: AMBER ALERT: Authorities Searching for Missing 13-Year-Old from Del Rio.

According to KWTX, two days later, on October 9, the United Stated Marshals searched the IP address on the suspected kidnapper's cell phone.

The phone "pinged" near an apartment complex in the Fort Worth area so the Lone Start and North Texas Fugitive Task Force was called in to recover the child.

The apartment was raided and inside was the child and 19-year-old Erik Diaz-Tapia.

Perez was found safe and Diaz-Tapia was arrested.
