Wanted 21-Year-Old Arrested for Molesting Teen

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested a 21-year-old, who had eight warrants, for raping a child.

According to the affidavit signed by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, on September 25, deputies with the TGSO met with a teenager after she told her mother she was raped.

The child told the deputies that when she got out of school she usually took the bus. On September 24, she did not take the bus but instead used a friend's phone to contact Matthew Florez, 21, for a ride using instagram.

When he arrived in his "White nice Dodge or Mustang" the child got into the car and asked him to take her home.

Instead he took her to the Ben Ficklin underpass and told her to have oral sex with him. After she denied, Florez told her he would not let her leave until she did the act.

After complying, he forced her into the back seat and had sex with her.

After hearing all of this, deputies went to discuss the allegations with Florez. When they arrived to his residence, Florez was inside a white Dodge Charger.

After running the plates deputies realized that Florez had eight warrant with the city of San Angelo.

He was arrested on those chargers and then questioned about the assault. During the interview he admitted to doing all of the things he was accused of and said it happened under the Ben Ficklin underpass.

He is charged with sexual assault of a child, driving while license invalid, expired vehicle registration, no proof of financial responsibility, two MISC CPF and three MISC VPTA.

He is currently in the Tom Green County Jail and his bond is set at $29,302. If released he can not make any contact to the victim.

I've needed a ride on occasion, but I'd probably opt for a cab or a brisk walk home, once the car stops and my ride's zipper goes down.
