Police Catch Woman Who Smashed into Bus Station Using Photos and Registration


SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department has made an arrest in the crash investigation where a car went through the Concho Valley Transit over the weekend. 

According to the police, a warrant for her arrest was signed by Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Susan Werner yesterday. This morning, 38-year-old Rebecca Moreno, the suspect, turned herself in at the county jail.  

As previously reported, on September 22, at around 2 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Concho Valley Transit Station on Chadbourne St. at the Houston Harte Expressway for a major motor vehicle accident.

Before police arrived the driver of the car fled the scene, while the other two passengers were taken to the hospital. 

At the scene, police said they suspected that high speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. 

After further investigation, police found footage of the girl leaving the scene and identified her by the registration on the Charger. Moreno was also seen on video surveillance as she the Transportation Center building through an entrance on the north side of the building. Police said she intentionally and knowingly fled the scene of the crash without leaving her personal identifying information, and without rendering reasonable assistance to her two passengers, a 34-year-old male and 33-year-old female who were in need of medical treatment. 

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office received Rebecca Moreno this morning at the jail. She was charged with accident involving injury. She is currently in the Tom Green County Jail and her bond is set at $10,000.
