Captured Fugitives in Schleicher County Manhunt Identified

ELDORADO, TX – The man and woman who ran from law enforcement officers Thursday sparking a day long manhunt in Schleicher County have been identified.

According to information from the Schleicher County Sheriff's Office,  Jose Daniel Lopez Cervantez, 33, and Dalia Ramirez, 22, both of Kerrville, TX are charged with evading arrest, possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

As we reported Thursday, law enforcement officers in Schleicher County attempted to stop a black sedan on U.S. 277 between Eldorado and Christoval Thursday morning but the driver fled the scene prompting officers to begin a manhunt for the fugitive.

According to Schleicher County Sheriff David Doran from the scene, officers pursued the vehicle and the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on CR 312 when he lost control and crashed through a fence. He then fled on foot.  "Right now we're just trying to organize a manhunt where we can attempt to locate him."

Ramirez was apprehended Thursday afternoon without incident.

Cervantez was captured Thursday evening and both were transported to the Schleicher County jail in Eldorado.
