STAMFORD, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested a man soliciting minors and engaging in prostitution.
According to KTXS, the DPS were conducting a mass investigation attempting catch child predators online. During the sting, troopers discovered a well-known man in the livestock community, 63-year-old Russell Baize.
Baize allegedly was very active on social media and would use those sites to prey on children. Troopers learned that he had contacted children in the past and decided to catch him in the act.
DPS created an account with the name on "Angie" and began a conversation with Baize. During the interaction Baize accepted an offer to meet with the fake account and a fake 16-year-old girl at a local motel. He also agreed to give them $300.
When Baize arrived to the motel, he did not meet the girls but instead a group of DPS troopers.
He was arrested in May and was indicted this week for third-degree felony online solicitation of a minor and Class B misdemeanor prostitution..
