SAPD: Friday Night Fugitive Captured

 

SAN ANGELO,TX –  San Angelo Police captured a suspect Friday night who fled from officers during a traffic stop.  

According to the SAPD, San Angelo Police initiated a traffic stop Friday night in the 1600 block of Howard Street but the vehicle’s driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. 

Shortly after the pursuit began, Officers located the suspect vehicle unoccupied in the 1100 block of Westland. The vehicle contained mail addressed to Benjamin Davenport at a residence in the 2700 block of North Street and witnesses near the vehicle advised officers they observed a white male fleeing from the vehicle down the alley.

Subsequent to the follow up investigation, Davenport was located hiding inside the residence on North Street.

Davenport was charged with Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without Incident.
