Body Found by Police After Mysterious Apartment Fire

 

BIG SPRING, TX -- An autopsy has been ordered for a woman that was found inside an abandoned apartment that caught on fire yesterday. 

According to the Big Spring Police Department, on August 29, officers were dispatched to an abandoned apartment complex, just east of Denny's on 3rd st., to assist the Big Spring Fire Department with a fire inside the apartment. 

When firefighters arrived, they put out the fire and discovered the body of 41-year-old Maria Flores. 

The body has been sent for an autopsy but no cause of death has been reported at this time. 

No word yet on how the fire started. 

Police say this is an on-going investigation.
