Juvenile Justice Employee Arrested for Improper Relations with Inmate

BROWNWOOD, TX -- An employee for the Texas Juvenile Justice Department was arrested Thursday for having improper relations with an inmate.

According to KTXS, on August 22, the Office of Inspector General arrested Daniel Holmes, 34, after reports of him having sex with an inmate in the Ron Jackson State Juvenile Correctional Complex.

Holmes was the Youth Development Coach and was immediately terminated after his arrest.

"I want to make clear that any employee who commits a criminal act will face the highest penalties allowed under the law," said Camille Cain, the Executive Director of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. "TJJD has zero tolerance for such behavior, and I encourage anyone who suspects abuse, neglect, or criminal activity to report it immediately.”

Holmes is currently in the Brown County Jail.
