Sheriff Identifies Victim in Forty Year Old "Orange Socks" Murder Cold Case

GEORGETOWN, TX -- The victim in the 40 year old cold case has finally been identified.

According to KTXS, in 1979 the Williamson County Sheriff Office found a woman dead along I-35. She was wearing nothing but orange socks and that is why this cold case is called the "Orange Sock Case."

in 2017 Sheriff Robert Chody put together a team to solve the case and now after 40 years they have identified the girl. Her name was Debra Jackson, 23, of Abilene.

Jackson was never reported missing by her family because she was know to leave home in the past.

If you have any further information about Jackson's death contact the WCSO immediately.
