San Antonio Man Caught Toting Weed from Colorado on US-87

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A man from San Antonio was arrested yesterday after deputies seized a half pound of pot.

According to the TGCSO, on July 30 a deputy was patrolling US-87 and performed a traffic stop. The deputy first identified the driver as 29-year-old Quinton Batiste and then called in the SAPD K-9 unit to search the vehicle.

The SAPD K9 had a positive alert on the vehicle and the subsequent search of the vehicle produced in excess of ½ pound of marijuana.

The marijuana was purchased in Colorado and was being transported to Texas.

Batiste was booked into the Tom Green County Jail and charged for possession of marijuana more than four ounces but less than five pounds. His bond is set at $10,000.
