Deputies Shot At; Shooter Still At-Large

 

MIDLAND, TX -- The Midland County Sheriff's Office are searching for a man who fired multiple gunshots at them yesterday. 

According to Newswest 9, on July 28 the MCSO were dispatched to SCO 1175 for the report of a disturbance. Once they arrived they began speaking with the complainants when the Deputies heard gunfire coming towards them. 

They then got the victims to a safe place but the gunman got away. 

Sheriff Richard Gillette says that the man they believe to have shot at them is Jair Ruiz. 

Officials from the MCSO, Midland Police Department, Department of Public Safety and Ector County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search of the shooter. 

The personnel searched for several hours however, was unable to locate.

The scene was cleared and residents were being let back into their homes.

Midland County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation and expects warrants to be issued.
