Dropbox Notifies Authorities of Man Possessing Dozens of Lewd Images of Children

ABILENE, TX -- An Abilene man has been indicted after the media saving and sharing company "Dropbox" notified authorities that he was in possession of 43 videos and images of child pornography.

On November 2, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from the company "Dropbox" that a man has uploaded a large amount of child pornography to his personal dropbox.

The NCMEC then reached out to the Abilene Police Department. The APD traced the IP address of the drop box to 19-year-old Casey Jones.

Jones' computer was then searched and police found 19 videos and 23 images of "child exploitation material." He was then arrested on February 7.

According to KTXS, Jones confessed to using Dropbox to receive child porn.

They say he also admitted sending videos and images to others users who requested it.

Jones is currently charged with possession with intent to promote child pornography and possession of child pornography.
