Aunt of Cedrick Jackson Arrested After Baby's Body Found in Landfill

DALLAS, TX -- The aunt of the baby that was found dead in a Dallas landfill was arrested yesterday.

On July 10 at around 12:30 a.m. 18-month-old Cedrick Jackson was reported missing. After an Amber Alert was issued the Dallas Police Department found the baby's body in a landfill.

The following day 27-year-old Sedick Jonhson, the boyfriend of Cedrick Jackson's aunt, was arrested for injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

According to CBS DFW, Johnson stated that the baby had made a mess with ketchup packets so he tightly swaddled him so he could not move.

A little while later Johnson unwrapped the baby and Cedrick began throwing up until becoming unresponsive. This is when Johnson says he attempted CPR but it did not work. He then drove to a dumpster where he disposed of the body.

Now the girlfriend of Johnson and the Aunt of Jackson has been arrested. According to KTXS, 27-year-old Chrystal Jackson had custody of the child, reported him missing and possibly abducted. The aunt was booked into the Dallas County jail Thursday with bond set at $35,000. She has been charged with child endangerment. No attorney is listed on her online jail report.
