SAPD: Officer Injured in Hit an Run Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Two San Angelo Police Department unmarked vehicles were damaged in a Wednesday afternoon Hit and Run crash. 

According to the SAPD, Wednesday afternoon, a black 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on East Concho Avenue passing South Oakes Street when the vehicle’s driver crossed into the eastbound lane and subsequently collided with two unmarked San Angelo Police Department vehicles that were traveling east. 

The Tahoe’s driver left the scene of the crash but was later stopped and detained by a detective who witnessed the incident. 

Following the crash investigation, the Tahoe’s driver, a 37-year-old San Angelo resident, was issued citations for Failure to Maintain a Single Lane and Failure to Stop and Leave Information Upon Striking a Vehicle.

One detective self-ambulated to a nearby hospital with non-incapacitating injuries and was later released.
