BPD Officer Under Investigation After Off-Duty Altercation with Civilian

 

BALLINGER, TX -- An Officer for the Ballinger Police Department in under investigation after an altercation with a civilian occurred during the city's "Party at the Park." 

According to KTXS, on June 28 the City of Ballinger hosted a "Party at the Park" celebration. During the event off-duty officer Ernest Juarez got into a confrontation with a civilian and had to be escorted home by co-workers at the BPD. 

Now City Manager Tommy Turner says that Juarez has resigned and that the Runnels county Sheriff's Office has been called in to investigate the incident. 

The investigation is on-going and Runnels County District Attorney will determine if any charges will be filed.
