Police Arrest Man for Drugging and Assaulting Child

ABILENE, TX -- A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a child.

According to KTXS, in January of 2019 the Grand Prairie Police Department reported to the Abilene Police Department about a case where a man allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted a child.

Christopher Rivera, 22, is accused of the crime after the 15-year-old victim reported to the GPPD that Rivera gave her a Xanax which caused her to go to sleep.

When she woke up she remembers Rivera being on top of her.

Rivera admitted to a detective in February that he sexually assaulted the victim.

Rivera is charged with sexual assault of a child and is currently in the Taylor County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
