UPDATE: 8-Year-Old Home During Home Invasion Murder

 

ODESSA, TX -- Police have identified the man that was killed during a "targeted home invasion" on Tuesday night. 

On June 25, the Midland Police Department responded to a shots fired call at around 10:30 p.m. 

When they arrived arrived to the house on the 1700 block of Maple Avenue and found 26-year-old Joshua Shoals with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

According to Newswest 9, Prior to police arriving, an anonymous neighbor called police after Shoal's 8-year-old daughter ran into the neighbors home begging them to call 911. She told the neighbor that there were men with guns inside the house. 

After fifteen minutes went by authorities arrived and Shoals' was rushed to the hospital where he died. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that no suspects have been arrested at this time. If anyone has any information on the shooting, contact the Midland Police Department's non-emergency line at (432) 685-7108.
