Texas Toddler Dies in a Hot Car Over the Weekend
GALVESTON, TX -- An infant left in a hot car Saturday while his father went to work in a Galveston, TX restaurant has died.
According to information from the Galveston Fire Department, the one-year-old boy was in an SUV for five hours in 92 degree weather while his father worked a shift in the restaurant.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and began treatment of the unresponsive infant.
The child was later pronounced dead at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Police identified the father as Albert Pena and say no charges have been filed at this time.
The death is the third in Texas since Friday and the 13th nationally.
