Teenage Human Trafficking Victim from Odessa Found in San Antonio Hotel

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The San Antonio Police Department rescued a 14-year-old human trafficking victim yesterday.

On June 20, the SAPD received a call from the Marriott in downtown San Antonio concerning a man who would not leave the hotel and asked if they could check the room to see if anyone was living there.

Police arrived and went into the room and found multiple needles and drug paraphernalia as well as an AR-15.

Eric McConal, 35, and Vanessa Arriaga, 30, told police that the child was her relative and the child told them that she was her legal guardian. They detained all three and took the adults to the Bexar County Jail and the girl to the juvenile detention center.

According to MRT, when police took the girl to the juvenile detention center, they discovered her true identity and her active runaway status. The girl later told police that she first met Arriaga in a "trap house" in Odessa where drugs were being sold.

While at the county jail Arriaga told Police of the third man involved with the trafficking. Arriaga continued telling police that her and Erek Brown, 38, "groomed" the child to "party in San Antonio."

McConal told police that Brown is a pimp that brings women from Odessa so that they could "party" together. Police found evidence on social media from Brown saying "he was bringing the lil Mexican girl to San Antonio" to meet with McConal

McConal, Brown, and Arriaga are charged with trafficking of a minor. McConal is in the Bexar County Jail, Arriaga's bond is set at $42,000, and Brown is still on the run.

If you know any information on Brown contact police immediately.
