LUBBOCK, TX -- An alligator was caught wandering the streets of Lubbock on Sunday.
On June 16, the Lubbock Animal Service received a very strange call. It was a report of an alligator that was wandering around 17th and Iola Ave.
When they arrived they in fact did find the alligator. In fact they even found the owner of the gator who is being asked to voluntarily surrendered it to the Animal Service.
According to KLBK, Under city ordinances and Texas law, owning wild animals, including alligators, is prohibited. The only exceptions are for permits explicitly allowing alligators for farming purposes.
If surrendered "Ally the Alligator" will be sent to a sanctuary or be used for educational purposes.
